These General Terms and Conditions apply exclusively for the Workshop on Global Philanthropy – 2025 (hereinafter “Workshop”) organized by the Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS), University of Basel (hereinafter “Workshop Organizer”).
The workshop fee is 250 Swiss Francs for in-person participation and 150 Swiss Francs for virtual attendance. The workshop fees include the services specified in the participant registration (two lunches and a conference dinner). Travel expenses or costs for accommodation are not included.
With the payment of the workshop fee, the enrollees acquire the right to participate in the individual events (e.g., plenary session, workshop) of the Workshop. In case of non-participation in parts or the whole of the Workshop, the enrollees cannot claim any refund or partial refund of the workshop fees from the Workshop Organizers.
The Workshop Organizers may refuse admission to the event if the workshop fees have not been paid.
The Workshop Organizers reserve the right to make changes to the program at short notice (venue, schedule, speakers, content) in the interest of quality assurance and/or the organization and feasibility of the Workshop.
If the Workshop cannot be held on site due to factors beyond the influence of the Workshop Organizers (force majeure), the Workshop Organizers reserve the right to cancel the Workshop. In such cases, the Workshop Organizers undertake to refund the workshop fees already paid by the Participants.
The Workshop Organizers reserve the right to cancel the Workshop in case of insufficient number of participants up to 8 weeks before the start of the Workshop. Workshop fees already paid will be refunded in full.
For all Workshops, the organizers exclude liability for damages caused by third parties, in particular theft, which may occur during the event. Participants are responsible for their own insurance coverage.
Cancellation Policy
To cancel registration, Participants must submit a written cancellation request to global-philanthropy-ceps@unibas.ch.
Photography and Recording Photography and video recordings may be taken during the Workshop by authorized personnel for documentation and promotional purposes. By attending the Workshop, Participants consent to being photographed and recorded. Audio or video recordings, photography, or reproduction of presentations by Participants are prohibited without prior written authorization.
Intellectual Property Rights Presentations and materials provided during the Workshop remain the intellectual property of their respective authors or rights holders. By accepting to present at or submit materials to the Workshop, presenters and authors grant the Workshop Organizers permission to include their name, affiliation, and abstract in the Workshop program and related promotional materials. The Workshop Organizers may produce a collection of abstracts for distribution to Participants. By submitting an abstract, authors consent to its inclusion in such collections. Full papers or extended works based on presentations will be made available to other Workshop participants and may be considered for publication in conference proceedings or related publications, subject to separate publication agreements.
Data Protection and Privacy Personal data is collected and processed for the purpose of organizing and conducting the Workshop, including registration management, communication with Participants, and provision of Workshop materials. Contact information may be used to inform Participants about future events unless the Participant explicitly opts out. Personal data may be shared with third-party service providers who assist in organizing the Workshop. Participants have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of their personal data by contacting the Workshop Organizers. The place of jurisdiction is Basel. Swiss law is applicable for all legal relations.
