We aim to make your experience at the 27th European Practicum on Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing as smooth and stress-free as possible. Below, you’ll find detailed information about how to get to the venue, accommodations, and tips to make the most of your time in Basel.

Conveniently located near Basel’s public transport network and major motorways, the venue is easy to access by tram, bus, train, car, or even bike.
Getting to the Venue
By Tram and Bus
The closest stop, “St. Jakob”, is served by:
From the St. Jakob stop, walk 200 metres towards Gartenbad St. Jakob. The venue’s main entrance is located directly opposite the Gartenbad.

By Train
Information about train connections are available at https://www.sbb.ch/en.
The nearest railway stations are:
- Basel SBB (Switzerland)
- Badischer Bahnhof (Germany)
From Basel SBB to St. Jakobshalle:
- Take Tram Line 8, 10, or 11 to Aeschenplatz (1 stop), then transfer to Tram Line 14 towards St. Jakob (approx. 20 minutes in total).
From Badischer Bahnhof to St. Jakobshalle:
- Take Bus Line 36 (stop located in front of McDonald’s) directly to St. Jakob (approx. 15 minutes).
By Car
From Luzern, Bern, Zürich:
- Take the A2 motorway towards Basel. After passing through the Schweizerhalle tunnel, follow the signs for Delémont.
- Exit at Basel-St. Jakob, keeping left at the traffic lights. Follow the signs for St. Jakobshalle through the underpass. After the underpass, turn right to access the St. Jakob parking garage (Brüglingerstr. 17).
From Delémont, Laufen:
- Take the J18 motorway towards Basel. Exit at Basel-St. Jakob / Muttenz-Industrie.
- At the traffic lights, turn left and continue past St. Jakobshalle (on your left) and St. Jakob-Park (on your right).
- At the next set of traffic lights, turn left again and follow the parking signs to the St. Jakob parking garage.
From Germany/France:
- Take the A5 motorway towards Basel via the Weil am Rhein border crossing.
(Note: Swiss motorway vignette required)
- After the border, follow signs for Luzern, Bern, Zürich, Delémont, Basel-Süd/St. Jakob.
- Exit at Basel-Süd / St. Jakob. Keep left at the traffic lights and follow signs for St. Jakobshalle through the underpass. After the underpass, turn right to access the parking garage at Brüglingerstr. 17.
